Choose a real planning target

The stock worksheet uses your chosen people count, items per person and known on-hand items. These inputs can support an office kit or event allocation. They do not establish a pen-use rate, ink shelf life or writing distance. We have not counted pages or measured how long a cartridge lasts under any writing method.

A zero-demand case

If a color is not needed, enter zero items per person for that row. Its target becomes zero and the order gap cannot become negative. If usable on-hand stock already exceeds a positive target, the tool also returns zero packs needed. This is arithmetic over your stated inventory, not an instruction to discard or replace supplies on a fixed schedule.

Understand the surplus

Whole-pack rounding can produce a surplus. In the ten-person, two-black-pens example, three on hand plus two 12-packs gives 27 items against a 20-item target, or seven extra. The extra count is not a guarantee that the stock remains usable until a future date. Keep actual storage and condition checks separate from the allocation result.

What a lifespan claim would need

A cost-per-page or cost-per-month comparison would require a valid denominator from relevant evidence. A barrel size, transparent reservoir or manufacturer drying slogan does not provide it. Our price tools remain per confirmed physical item and our planning tool remains per user allocation. Recheck current pack count, stock and checkout before turning the worksheet into an order.

Stock quantity is not ink quantity

Ten complete pens on a shelf are ten physical items, but this does not establish identical remaining ink in each one. Count only the usable stock you are prepared to allocate and mark uncertain items separately. The worksheet does not estimate remaining ink from barrel appearance or transform old partial cartridges into new equivalent packages.

A reorder date needs another model

To choose a date, you would need your own observed usage and actual supplier lead time. Neither is established by this site price capture. We therefore do not announce a standard monthly reorder cycle or a guaranteed number of days of coverage. The allocation worksheet solves a chosen one-time kit requirement instead.

Before you decide

  • Keep the exact selected SKU, color and selling unit
  • Check current maker scope and the actual seller offer
  • Separate your assumptions from measured performance
